On November 14th 2023, it was announced that the group had won the Kings Award for Voluntary Service (KAVS). The KAVS Crystal is to be handed over by the Lord-Lieutenant of East Sussex, Andrew Blackman CStJ at a ceremony at the Civic Centre Uckfield on Thursday February 15th starting at 1.45PM. Two representatives of the team will be invited to visit Buckingham Palace in May 2024 where representatives of other 2023 national winners are to be hosted.
Brighter Uckfield volunteers previously achieved The Community Green Award in 2019, sponsored by Uckfield Town Council, and awarded by Uckfield FM (now Ashdown Radio).
It’s good to be be appreciated with awwards, but our greatest joy is to see Uckfield bright, clean, and florally decorated.
